COPD

The National COPD Audit 2008 built on previous audits of acute COPD care in 1997 and 2003 and aimed to:

• Enable participating units to compare their performance against national standards,
• Identify resources and organisational factors that may account for observed variations in outcome,
• Facilitate improvements in the quality of care
• Identify change since the 2003 National COPD Audit (Royal College of Physicians and the British Thoracic Society).
