Library

The RCP library has an extensive collection and range of services available to members and fellows, and members of the public.  If you are interested in medical policy and practice, and modern medical history please refer to the following. 

The Jerwood Medical Education Resource Centre (MERC) contains a comprehensive collection of print and multimedia education resources.

Heritage, historical research, museum and archives

Please contact the Heritage Centre for information about RCP history, heritage collections, and services including tours and access to pre-1900 books and manuscripts.

MRCP(UK) & Exams

The three Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom share a common membership examination in general medicine, which is the knowledge-based assessment for core medical training, the MRCP(UK).

In addition, there are now Specialty Certificate Examinations (SCEs) in selected specialties.

The Diploma in Geriatric Medicine (DGM) Examination is designed to give recognition of competence in the provision of care of the elderly.

The Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H) examination is intended to test the knowledge required of physicians who wish to practice medicine effectively in developing countries.

ST3 Recruitment

The RCP is piloting a coordinated project of national recruitment to a number of specialties at ST3 level.  You can apply via the official ST3 Recruitment website.  An ST3 Recruitment helpdesk has been set up to answer your email enquiries.

The RCP plays an important role in approving job descriptions for consultant and specialty doctor grade posts, and in forming advisory appointments committees (AACs).
